Talking to the Camera

  • Frame yourself with headroom — eyes roughly a third of the way from the top of the frame.
  • Film in landscape, with the phone at eye level rather than looking down at a lower phone.
  • Find a quiet space — background noise is one of the most common quality issues we see.
  • Look at the lens, not the screen preview.
  • Do a few short takes rather than one long one — it's easier for the editor to pick the best line.
  • Value Cut ($35): one continuous take is all we need — we clean up the jump cuts and pacing. No voiceover or b-roll at this tier, 45 seconds max.
  • Branded Cut: leave a few seconds of silence at the very start — that's where your logo intro gets placed.
  • Premium Cut: film 10-15 seconds of extra b-roll (the street, the shopfront, the development) for your voiceover to play over.
  • Custom Cut: mix it up — a piece to camera, a segment out in the neighborhood, and a closing line can all go in one edit if you tell us the order you want them in.
